On Monday, November 2, at 7:30 pm, Musikanten Montana continues the All Souls memorial celebration with Brahms, his Op. 104 Fünf Gesänge, the set of 5 last songs he wrote for chorus sung by a chamber ensemble. Cathedral organist John Goodwin will play Bach, and favorite guest artists Anne Kania, Rob Tudor, and Bobb Robinson will offer French art songs by Fauré, Duparc and Hahn, accompanied by Gerald Schafer.
The final piece will be the first Helena performance of a new commissioned work by MJ Williams, composer-in-residence at the Blackfoot Pathways: Sculpture in the Wild. “Geological Lincoln (Nobody’s Fault)” for piano, electric guitar, electric bass, trombone, baritone sax and vocal quartet, was premiered on September 5 at the Methodist Church in Lincoln to a full sanctuary.
