ABOUT
Commemorating the Feasts of All Souls and All Saints, Musikanten Montana will offer a candlelight memorial concert for All Souls on Saturday, November 1, at 7:30 PM, featuring J.S. Bach’s Cantata 106 “Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit” (God’s time is the best time). Vocal soloists in the Bach cantata are soprano Elise Dye, contralto Anne Kania, tenor Dan Hutchings, and baritones Bobb Robinson and Art Bumgardner, with organist Wendy Yuen, Curtis Foster and Sarah Schilling on recorder, and Anne Kania and Sarah Graf on violas da gamba. Wendy Yuen will open the concert with the Andante Sostenuto movement from Widor’s Organ Symphony No 9. Pianist Gerald Schafer will accompany featured vocal soloists in works by Richard Strauss and Gerald Finzi, and the choir will sing the double choir motet by Sir William Harris “Bring Us, O Lord God.”
