About Helena Choral Week

Musikanten Montana is gearing up for Helena Choral Week 2018, this year scheduled for June 11-17. The week is packed with events for choral singers and all lovers of vocal music;
8 AM breakfasts at a different Helena coffee shop kick-start the morning, followed by three 50-minute classes offered at 9, 10, and 11 AM.
Morning classes will be at the Cathedral Center (next to the Cathedral of St. Helena) and include Music Fundamentals, Madrigal Singing, and Group Voice. Rob Tudor's "The Meaning Behind our Music" will also be back, by popular demand. Classes are open to the public - enrollment for 5 days is $50; drop-ins are welcome any day for $12 each class. Local singers are encouraged to come and brush up their sight-singing and vocal skills, or have fun singing madrigals led by professional early music singers. The Guest Artist/Teachers will also schedule private voice lessons at mutually convenient times.
Musikanten Montana choristers begin rehearsing early for the Helena Choral Week final concert, "The French Connection," which includes music by Poulenc, Hindemith, Corigliano, Milhaud, Fauré, Saint-Saëns and Duruflé. Experienced local singers are invited to audition to join the Helena contingent for Tuesday evening rehearsals leading up to future Choral Weeks, when they will be joined by singers from around the country for the first full rehearsal of Choral Week. Interested singers should email musikantenmt@aol.com to learn more about future festival choruses.
